Description

The council currently collects 4 streams of waste and recycling at the kerbside, these are residual waste, garden waste, paper and cardboard and Dry mixed recycling (DMR).
The new contract will be in 2 lots, 1 will cover the receipt handling and treatment of approximately 6000 tonnes of paper and cardboard.
The 2nd will cover the receipt handling and treatment of approximately 10600 tonnes of dry mixed recycling (DMR), which comprises of glass, cans, plastic bottles, pots tubs and trays collected from the kerbside

HDC-1463 Recyclables and Waste Collections, Street Cleansing and Grounds Maintenance Services Harborough District Council

Harborough District Council will shortly be tendering for a single supplier to run a service consisting of the recyclable and waste collection services, as well as street cleansing and grounds maintenance services. The intention is to contract a single supplier, however, it will be permissible under the contract, to subcontract elements of the contract to subcontractors, managed by the single main contractor, in line with all Council requirements. It is envisaged that the only element of the service that will be eligible for subcontracting is Grounds maintenance. Details of the available options will be made clear within the published tender documentation. The service will take place across the Harborough District. It is anticipated that the initial tender documentation will be available to any interested supplier to submit an initial tender response. This opportunity will be run under the Procurement Act 2023 Competitive Flexible procedure, with an invitation to submit an initial tender, followed by rounds of negotiation before an invitation to submit a final tender. The final process will be clearly defined in the tender documentation. The purpose of this notice is to notify potential bidders of this upcoming opportunity which is expected to be published at the end of September 2025.
