Description
Jisc has appointed a consultancy to carry out the following: • Develop an approach to costing the technical debt of the current digital, data and technology infrastructure across teaching and learning, research and innovation and corporate management systems • Work closely and confidentially with a small group of representative higher education institutions to establish and test the approach (though Jisc isn’t opposed to working with a larger group if it is feasible within the time and cost constraints of the project). • Participation and engagement will be supported by the UUK transformation and efficiency programme and Jisc’s membership • Derive evidence to be able to identify the costs of maintaining the status quo, both capital and recurrent and • Develop a model for costing technical debt to enable institutions to derive pragmatic and credible evidence for investment in new and significant collaborative efficiencies across the HEI landscape.
