Description
New legislation will require Highway Authorities to provide digital versions of all new Traffic Regulation Orders - both temporary and permanent - during 2025. It is expected that in the future it will be required that all historic TRO's will also need to be digitised. Therefore, we will need to implement a Digital TRO system in the next year. At Stockton, we currently create TRO's using a paper-based method which can be time consuming. We hold digital records of all TRO's up to 2009 in a GIS shapefile, with more recent records recorded paper based only. It is anticipated that the procurement of any new system to create D-TRO's will run parallel to an exercise to digitise all of our historic TRO's, with a view to having a single, modern, map-based database accessible to the public to comply with the proposed legislation. AppyWay, ParkMap, and StatMap Evo are digital tools commonly used by local authorities and transportation departments to assist with creation of new digital traffic regulation orders (TROs). The Council will call off from the G-Cloud 14 CCS framework. Following a shortlisting process, the contract will be awarded to Causeway Technologies Limited via a Direct Award.
