Description

The BFI wishes to commission a review of its education and learning programmes. The goal of the review is three-fold:
To provide an expert assessment of the BFI’s Education programme (part of the BFI’s cultural charity remit) from 2023 to current year highlighting its relevance, effectiveness and impact to its beneficiaries and to the sector as well as risks and challenges
To benchmark the BFI’s activity against cultural peers in the cinema and heritage moving image sector as well as national museums and galleries, determining what is unique about our offer and to identify best practice, innovative approaches and societal barriers the sector faces and how others have navigated them
To make prioritised recommendations as to the key interventions that would meet Screen Culture 2033 ambitions to advance our knowledge, collections, programmes, National Lottery funding and leadership, to build a diverse UK screen culture that benefits all of society, informing a new Education strategy from 2026, addressing internal and external factors key to the strategy’s success.

GMCA1480 Delivering Call to Evidence: Victim of Crime Sector Engagement Facilitator - To Support the Greater Manchester Victims' Strategic Needs Assessment

GMCA is seeking to award a contract for the provision of Delivering Call to Evidence: Victim of Crime Sector Engagement Facilitator - To Support the Greater Manchester Victims' Strategic Needs Assessment. The successful organisation or individual will be required to engage with the sector and develop our understanding of current demand and service quality, identify gaps in provision, highlight where there is best practice and carry out a comprehensive review of the services we currently commission. This is to inform future funding of services which support victims of crime. We are also seeking support in understanding the victim / witness experience by carrying out a range of engagement / listening exercises with the sector and victims and witnesses with lived experience themselves. This research is crucial in order to ensure funding is used in the best way possible, delivering value for money. It is important that the work considers our ambitions for victims in Greater Manchester outlined in the Gender-Based Violence Strategy, Standing Together Plan and the Greater Manchester Strategy. It is particularly important to us that services reflect the diversity of our communities in Greater Manchester. Further information on the nature and scope of the contract requirements can be found in the Service Specification set out as Section 3 of the Request for Quotation document. The contract period is 4 months and it is anticipated that the contract will commence in early June 2025.

Extension of existing Alternative Education Rolling Select List

Tenders are invited for inclusion on a Rolling Select List of approved, quality assured providers of Alternative Education intended to facilitate the placement of vulnerable children and young people for whom the Council has a statutory responsibility. All young people placed under this contract will be of statutory school age in Key Stages 1-5. Alternative Education encompasses a wide range of provisions including vocational therapeutic and tuition services offering up to 15 hours per week. These placements will be for children and young people who are currently not in education or are experiencing placement breakdown. Alternative education focusses on removing barriers to education and typically helping pupils back into mainstream environments. Whatever form it takes, Alternative Education should always be part of the inclusion process, not the end goal. These packages are commissioned outside of the local offer and are individually tailored to meet the needs of the individuals. These packages are put in place for children when there are difficulties in identifying a suitable permanent education provision for the child. The provision is used as an interim measure to ensure CYP continue to receive education and support whilst a more permanent placement is identified. These may also be put in place at the request of the families. Providers can apply to join the Rolling Select List or amend which lots they have bid for at any time, however, once the select list is live, applications will only be considered on a termly basis during the months of February, June and October each calendar year. Bidders will be notified no later than the end of the calendar month following month that the Rolling Select List is advertised as open to new bidders. e.g. end of March, end of July and end of November. This Rolling Select List complies with the Light touch Regime under the Public Contract Regulations 2015.
