Description

East Cambridgeshire District Council require the refurbishment of the annexe passenger lift at The Grange, Nutholt Lane, Ely, CB7 4EE. The current lift is an electric hydraulic passenger lift (max. 8 persons/630kg) 3 floors indirect acting.\r
\r
It is expected that works will include:\r
•	The following to be removed and disposed of according to current hazardous waste regulations:\r
o	Lift control panel\r
o	Shaft information system, including wiring and limit switches\r
o	Car and landing push stations\r
o	Car lighting unit\r
o	Door drive unit.\r
\r
•	Supply and fit the following:\r
o	New control system including shaft information system and switches\r
o	Rewire complete lift installation back as far as main isolator within the motor room\r
o	New door drive unit\r
o	New car and landing push stations to be DDA compliant\r
o	New car lighting including emergency backup\r
o	Carry out full hydraulic valve overhaul\r
o	Carry out full shaft clean down and paint lift pit area\r
o	Set up and test to the required British standards under BS EN 81, before returning lift to normal service.\r

The processes involves a Regulated Below-Threshold Shortlisting Process based on Technical Requirements as permitted under the Procurement Act 2023, Part 6, Section 85 for Works contracts valued over £213,477. Lifts Service and Maintenance

Hafod Housing Association Ltd, is re-tendering the contract to provide service and maintenance cover for its lifts (platform, through floor, stair and vertical). A 3-year comprehensive contract as more fully described in Section 5.15 (schedule 1a) whereby the Contractor undertakes, for a specified all-inclusive consideration, to carry out all or any maintenance, repairs or renewals which may be or become necessary and provide an emergency 24-hour service; The Contract term shall include the option for two further 12-month extensions based on contract performance over the initial 3-year period. The Employer’s objectives are to maintain a high level of reliability and availability of its units by operating a system of planned preventative maintenance with response to call outs and call backs/breakdowns maintained at agreed performance levels.
