Description

The Defra Noise Modelling System (NMS) has been designed, built, hosted and managed to date under a single supplier framework. <br/>This contract covers five main areas:<br/>1.	Hosting, supporting and managing the NMS, including data and software licensing, cloud services, backups, security patching, etc.<br/>2.	Handover provision, to ensure a seamless continuous provision of service <br/>3.	Pilot – the NMS is to be piloted with a number of users before the full launch that has been agreed by Ministers<br/>4.	Provision of datasets (accompanied by appropriate documentation and coding) to allow Defra to carry out R&D activities<br/>5.	Preparation for Round 5 mapping – Defra has a legal requirement to deliver noise maps across the country in 5 yearly intervals, known as rounds.  Preparation for Round 5 must commence in 2025 to have any chance of meeting the legal deadline for delivering these maps.

Decarbonisation Framework

This Framework is being procured by Places for People Group and Procurement Hub for the benefit of itself and its Members. Investigation of regulated tidal exchange and water level control structures for management of saline lagoons at North Killingholme Haven Pits Site of Special Scientific Interest, North East Lincolnshire

North Killingholme Haven Pits SSSI is near Immingham, North East Lincolnshire, on the south bank of the Humber Estuary (central grid reference TA1662919816). The privately owned,16ha, site comprises former clay pits which have developed into saline lagoons. It is within the Humber Estuary Special Protection Area/Ramsar site and is of international importance for non-breeding waterfowl. The site is connected to the Humber Estuary by a manually operated sluice in the flood bank, which allows for the regulated exchange of tidal water. The sluice is over 50 years old and is not fully functioning due to siltation, and health and safety concerns regarding its operation. The aims of the investigation are to survey the existing water level control structures on site, and appraise the options for management of water levels to achieve the site objectives. Outputs include a levels survey, concept designs and estimated costs for each option and associated actions. Site surveys are required. Technical and practical expertise is required. This is difficult terrain due to tidal mudflats and open water. There is also a working railway line. A site-based risk assessment will be required to be submitted to Natural England. Contract to start 1 September 2025, with final report to be submitted by 1 March 2026.

South Ken Zen+ Heat and Energy Project

We are posting this notice on behalf of the Exhibition Road Cultural Group. They are looking for experienced sustainability consultants to conduct a piece of work that will help our neighbourhood in Kensington to decarbonise heat and energy. The 22 Exhibition Road Cultural Group organisations are working together to become a zero emissions, nature positive neighbourhood through the South Ken ZEN+ programme. To reach our ambitious goals, we need to explore transformational opportunities for low carbon/zero carbon energy sources, projects and funding across the neighbourhood. This could include heat networks and other shared solutions, or individual solutions, to energy generation. The Exhibition Road Cultural Group is inviting tenders to support the members in a neighbourhood approach to decarbonising heat and energy with a focus on accessing further funding and exploring opportunities by: o Mapping and collating existing funding and project opportunities o Establishing a baseline of energy and heat demand across the members o Collating a systems inventory across members with coordinated timelines. Please note this is not a V&A contract or procurement process. We are posting this notice to help the ERCG reach a wide range of providers.
