Description

Arbour Vale School is a special school in Slough for pupils aged 2 to 19 with a wide range of educational needs. With 370 pupils on roll, it is one of the largest special schools in the country and meets the needs of children and young people with moderate learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties with profound and multiple needs as well pupils with autism.
The school is purpose built with specialist facilities including a dedicated nursery and post-16 base, soft-play area, hydrotherapy pool, multi-sensory room, a newly refurbished library, well-equipped IT suite, dedicated music room and large sports hall.
As part of the planning process for increasing pupils at the site in 2024-25 it was agreed that additional car parking capacity was required. This ITT will deliver the extra car parking capacity by constructing a new car park and reconfiguring the existing car park.
Arbour Vale School is an academy within a multi-academy trust (MAT) called Orchard Hill Academy and Trust (OHCAT) which primarily focuses on special needs education. Arbour Vale School forms part of Slough’s only PFI project, which includes 2 other schools. Arbour Vale School is one half of a ‘donut’ shaped building with Beechwood School occupying the other half of the building. Beechwood School is a secondary school and part of a different academy trust.
