Description

The vessel is due to undertake her term dry docking in August and September 2025.  As such the vessel's TWG thruster will be opened and presented to Class for survey as part of this 5-year special docking.  
      
      During the strip down and survey,  the shaft and other critical seals within the thruster will be changed out as part of the routine five year annual maintenance requirements.   OEM attendance will be required to undertake specific measurements with regards to clearances, wear etc and to compile a report for BAS and the attending Class Surveyor.

Defra Group Fleet Services (DGFS) are responsible for operating the safest, greenest, most cost-effective fleet assets across the Defra Group. DGFS are happy for suppliers to use subcontractors to meet its requirement of a nationally available service. This specification also includes the hire and purchase of marine craft, vessels, plant, trailers, marine outboards and safety equipment. DGFS require a single supplier, with the use of subcontractors where required, capable of delivering a national SIMAR, hire and purchase service. The contract supports DGFS’ ongoing marine and environmental responsibilities and requires a provider with specialist experience in marine vessel maintenance, regulatory compliance and operational readiness.
