Description

Clay Farm Centre is a large community centre in Trumpington, Cambridge which encompasses a library, café area, dance studio, various meeting rooms, a large hall, a large Doctors Surgery on the second floor, and 20 residential apartments over the third and fourth floors. The hall is 250 seated/400 standing with raked seating, sprung floor, projector, screen and small PA. We are currently developing the arts and culture programme at the centre in partnership with Library Presents, Corn Exchange, Folk Festival, local theatre groups, comedy and music promoters. To support and enable this programme development we need to install a theatrical lighting system and sound system.

The total budget is £41,000.

The procurement will include:
• Installation of wired lighting bars with connections for power, DMX and XLR.
• A small range of lighting fixtures to include profiles, washes and moving heads
• Lighting controller
• All fittings and connecting cables
• Digital audio desk and stage box
• Speakers and amplifiers
• Stage mics
• Stage monitors
• Mic stands, DIs and cables
• Flight cases for the audio desk, lighting controller and a road trunk for mics, cables and stands
• Any additional wall sockets and wiring

The Armed Forces Media Welfare Services are an MOD funded media and communications service produced, implemented, and maintained by an external provider; to deliver entertainment, unclassified information, and education to the UK Armed Forces community worldwide by means of audio and video content. It is a vital element in sustaining Operational Effectiveness by contributing to the morale and welfare of our personnel. Due to BFBS's charitable status, and the unique nature of this requirement, BFBS is the only supplier who can offer this bespoke service. Due to the complexity of the requirement and the reliance on the relationships BFBS have with network providers and licence holders, the service BFBS can provide is unique and it is evident that no other supplier can provide the Authority's requirement. Regulation 32 (2)(b)(ii) applies as competition is absent for technical reasons.
