Description

Southend-on-Sea City Council (the Council) has a duty to arrange for disposal of persons who die within its boundaries, where it appears to the Council that no suitable funeral arrangements can be made.  The duty extends to persons that die in hospital, at home, or in another place within the city of Southend. 

The Council are seeking electronic tender responses, as part of a competitive procurement process, to appoint a Contractor to support in the provisioning and carrying out of the Council's requirements, regarding these types of Public Health Funerals.
The suitably qualified Contractor shall be affiliated to a professional body relevant to the industry they work within and have, and maintain, the appropriate accreditation to demonstrate that their delivery of the Public Health Funerals is being carried out to the industry standards.

Other requirements and detail relating to the proposed Contract such as reporting, legislative compliance, record keeping, data protection, Social Value and contract management are covered as part of the Tender Documents.

The deadline for receipt of clarification requests relating to the Tender Documents is: 14:00 Wednesday 26th February 2025

The deadline for submission of Tender Responses is: 14:00 Thursday 13th March 2025
