UK SOV Manufacture Business Case Development - ORE/24/101

The offshore wind industry is growing rapidly, with over 850GW of capacity expected to be installed globally by 2050. This is underpinned by global commitments to reduce carbon emissions and by improving the cost efficiency of wind as an energy source. In line with this rapid expansion, the number of vessels required to support offshore wind developments throughout their operational life will also require major growth. Here at ORE Catapult, we have conducted analysis to determine the size of the market for operations and maintenance (O&M) vessels, based on global installed capacity targets. Up to 2050, strategies centred on Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs) and Service Operation Vessels (SOVs) are expected to be employed. Globally, this could equate to up to 2325 CTVs and 423 SOVs in operation by 2050. This presents a huge opportunity for UK Shipbuilding, however, none of the UK's currently operating SOVs have been built in the UK. This project aims to develop the business case for establishing this production.

EAS-Education Reform Monitoring & Evaluation Strategy

The Scottish Government has a requirement to place a contract with an external service provider for the provision of EAS-Education Reform Monitoring & Evaluation Strategy. The Scottish Government, on behalf of Scottish Ministers, wishes to commission work to inform the development of a monitoring and evaluation strategy for the Education Reform Programme. The Scottish Government is undertaking an ambitious programme of education reform which has been informed by the findings from the review of the Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) conducted in 2021 by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), titled “Scotland’s Curriculum for Excellence: Into the Future”. While it highlighted the continued relevance and ambition of CFE as the right approach for Scotland, it also pointed to the need for Scotland to adopt a planned and systematic approach to curriculum review and implementation, and enhance the coherence of the policy environment that surrounds CfE. The aims of this project are to: 1. evaluate the practical considerations for implementing a meaningful evaluation, including data quality and availability, stakeholder engagement, and systemic readiness 2. define the critical questions that will guide the monitoring and evaluation of the reforms, ensuring alignment with existing and new data sources and evidence 3. propose a structured approach to systematically monitor progress and assess the impact of the reforms over time

Sandwell Design Code (Supplementary Plan)

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced multi-disciplinary consultancy to prepare a Design Code for the Borough and for the consultant’s team to assist the Councils Planning Policy team in taking this through as a Supplementary Plan The team would be expected to comprise of, but not limited to, the following specialisms, urban design, planning, architecture, landscape, ecology, transport, heritage and consultation/event specialists. A fixed fee proposal is required to carry out the Design Code Supplementary Plan. Sandwell Council have allocated up to £250,000 net of VAT for provision of these services and the contract period will be for 19 months starting 21st March 2025 to 21st October 2026.
