Description

Derry City and Strabane District Council invite suppliers to tender for PeacePlus Reimage-Recycle. This project is a soft-skills, environmental 1 year initiative (approximately) working with 80 adults on a cross-community basis on the topic of recycling, upcycling and zero-waste. Its key focus is within the Foyleside District Electoral Area (DEA) geographically but will require cross-community linkages elsewhere across the wider city and district to ensure the cross-community balance is achieved. Whilst open to all, recruitment will specifically target work with Men’s and Hen’s Sheds in the local Foyleside community as well as outreaching cross-community (including the Waterside) to engage adults with a learning or physical disability, adults with mental health issues, adults from BAME, Refugee and Asylum seeker identities and other interested participants from the wider city. The project delivery will have a strong emphasis on inclusion and understanding diverse needs and identities. The project will factor in reasonable adjustments for inclusion and equality to ensure reasonable access to participation. Workshops will teach the relevant skills to turn discarded items from the local recycling centre and/or own items into useful, new items. Importantly, there should be informal dialogue opportunities built into the project so that participants can make friends and understand some of each other’s life experiences. Some upcycling should ideally include the ‘re-imaging’ of types of bonfire materials (pallets, cable reels). Any products produced can be donated to assist local community groups, individuals in need, or kept – they should not be sold. Arising from the Co-design process in the Foyleside District Electoral Area (DEA), this project should strive to bring key benefit to that area. This project is under the Thriving and Peaceful Communities Theme. Please refer to the CfT documents for further detail.

Social Impact Framework

Prior Notice Published: UK-0339 The East of England NHS Collaborative Procurement Hub intends to establish a multi-lot framework agreement to support the commissioning of services that address health inequalities and the wider determinants of health. The framework will offer a compliant, structured route for NHS organisations, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), local authorities, and other public sector bodies to procure community-based services. It is designed to strengthen collaboration with VCSEs, SMEs, and specialist providers, with the aim of improving early access to support and reducing pressure on acute services. The framework focuses on three core themes: Voice & Influence: Enabling people and communities to shape services, exercise choice, and be active participants in decision-making. Community-Led Services for Social Impact: Supporting services led by local organisations and people, with a focus on addressing needs identified by the community. Prevention & Cessation: Commissioning services that focus on prevention, early intervention, and supporting people to make positive changes, reducing demand for crisis or acute care. Services may include, but are not limited to, support with mental health, housing, employment, financial inclusion, domestic abuse, and wider prevention services. The framework will be open to all eligible providers across the UK and will operate as an open framework under the Procurement Act 2023.
