Description

Nexus is the Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Executive, which delivers and administers transport services on behalf of the Combined Authority in Tyne and Wear. Nexus is intending to let a sole supplier framework whose Scope will include but not be limited to fabrication and supply of bus shelters to exacting (and agreed) technical standards; pre-construction services e.g., survey and design of bus shelters in readiness for installation; all necessary works to site bus shelters at agreed locations that will include for traffic management (where applicable); production of RAMS and pre-construction enabling services and all necessary works required. The provider will be anticipated to undertaker the role of Principal Designer and Principal Contractor as part of the works.

Appointment of Fabrication Contractor for Lamination Jig for HMS Victory Project

The purpose of this tender opportunity is to alert potential suppliers to an opportunity to fabricate a large dimension timber lamination jig for the production of planks for conservation of HMS Victory.This is an accelerated procedure with the PPN being advertised prior to this Open Procedure. The aim of the HMS Victory Conservation Programme is to deliver a fully conserved ship, able to survive in an open environment for the next 50 years without major work beyond a programme of planned maintenance. The NMRN is seeking a fabrication contractor to design, fabricate and install a lamination jig for the production of large dimension timber elements for use in the conservation of HMS Victory's hull. Due to the secure location of the Historic Ships Workshop site visits must be booked at least 48 hours in advance, details can be found within the ITT documentation. Appendix 1 has concept images of the proposed lamination jig which have been produced by shipwrights based on current known requirements, previous experience and the constraints of the conservation workshops in the Historic Dockyard. Design and Build Bow Door Lifting Replacement for Landing Craft Tank- LCT 7074

The National Museum of the Royal Navy (NMRN) are seeking to appoint a contractor to design, build and install replacement bow door lifting arrangements onto Landing Craft Tank- LCT 7074 situated at the D-Day Story, Southsea, UK. LCT 7074 is owned as part of the NMRN Historic Ships fleet, it is operated by the D-Day Story as a visitor attraction. The replacement bow door lifting arrangements is to ensure the continued operation of the landing craft all year and to reduce the current maintenance cost of the current installed arrangement. The intention is for works to be undertaken during the off-peak season between November 2024- March 2026. With requirement for Heritage Impact Assessment to be undertaken and approved by NMRN and associated stakeholders before fabrication and installation is made. Site visits are strongly advised for this tender to see the current arrangement, and also to survey the landing crafts port and starboard arms where lifting arrangements are to be installed.
