Description

Defra have provided funding to the Environment Agency (the Authority) to help improve agricultural representation in regional water resources plans. The Environment Agency contracted WSP to create a Supply-Demand-Balance-Assessment (SDBA) tool to calculate the surplus or deficit in a catchment for agricultural water use. This has a baseline (current position) and future projections to 2050 which includes effects of climate and socio-economic change. This has been tested on 5 catchments across England.
This tool can now be used to undertake supply-demand balance assessments at catchment scale. 
The Environment Agency would like to run an additional 20 studies in this financial year, including this batch of 5
