Description

Natural Resources Wales Analytical Services (NRWAS) are looking purchase one Particle Size Analyser & one Auto-Titrator Machine as part of their asset replacement programme for 2024/2025. The equipment will be used for analysing a range of environmental matrices including waters (freshwater, groundwater, treated effluents) soils, sediments, passive sampler extracts and associated materials after appropriate extraction and pre-treatment. NRW are looking to purchase these machines with a 1 year warranty, and a 4 year service and maintenance contract to follow. If possible, we will be looking to secure a further 5 year service and maintenance contract with the successful supplier subject to supplier availability.

The EPSRC National Epitaxy Facility (NEF) at the University of Sheffield supplies a wide range of III-V semiconductor materials and devices primarily to the UK academic research community. The NEF also engages in significant activity researching and developing new materials and structures. A key area of activity is quantum optics and, in particular, the development of high quality single photon sources based on quantum dots. In order to carry out effective characterisation of these devices The NEF is looking to acquire a highly sensitive superconducting nanowire single photon detection (SNSPD) system capable of measuring very low light signals in the NIR band. At least 2 detection channels optimised at 1550nm are required for correlation measurements. Additional detection channels at both shorter and longer wavelengths are also required. The Northern Ireland Environment Agency have a requirement for for the Supply, Delivery and Installation, of up to three Triple Quadrupole Gas Chromatographic Mass Spectrometers, (GCMS TQ) including Warranty and Training of staff in their use, to perform analysis of WFD Annex 8/10 substances in environmental matrices down to extremely low Limit of Quantification (LOQ)s, with one year’s initial warranty period and optional 4 years’ additional warranty covering servicing, maintenance and a technical support package, which must be delivered to the NIEA Lisburn site on or before 31st March 2025. The contract will be for a duration of 1 year (to cover warranty from date of commissioning), with 4 further optional extension periods of up to 12 months each.
