Description

Tenders are invited for the Gymnasium Refurbishment Works at the University of Keele. This will cover the refurbishment of the existing gymnasium at the Sports Centre on the University campus.

The works and services required are fully described in Section 2 of the ITT.

Section 2 of the ITT details the Introduction Document and also provides a copy of the Document Register of the Tender Specification Documents.

The Tender Specification Documents are attached as separate documents.

All Tenderers will be required to submit a compliant tender response in accordance with the tender requirements as set out in the Tender Specification Documents.

All tender responses will be subject to the Tender Evaluation Methodology as set out in the Invitation to Tender.

Tenderers can consider and/or submit at their own discretion a response pertaining to any element of their proposal where value engineering can be achieved. Tenderers are required to note that any value engineering proposal will not be subject to the tender evaluation and will therefore not be scored.

The University will reserve the discretion to accept and/or reject any variation to the tender requirement with the successful tenderer post tender.

The estimated total value of the Contract for the Gymnasium Refurbishment Works is circa £200,000 excluding VAT.

The Gymnasium Refurbishment Works covering all of the works and services required to deliver the contract shall be completed by 20th June 2025.

The Contract will commence on 24th February 2025 and will run until the completion date of 20th June 2025 followed by a 12-month defects liability period.

Main reasons for decision not to subdivide contract into lots: Given the need for one main contractor to co-ordinate the delivery of the works and services required to deliver the project, the contract has not been subdivided into lots.

In order to assist Tenderers in preparing their tender submission, the University will be holding a collective site visit with all potential Tenderers on Wednesday 18th December 2024 to allow Tenderers to see the working area in the Sports Centre, the access arrangements to same, the contractors areas on the all-weather pitch as well as a chance to review existing building services.

It is a mandatory requirement that all Tenderers attend the site visit. Tenderers should note that the University is not in a position to offer any alternative dates.

The site visit is not part of the scoring assessment and is offered to Tenderers by way of informing their Tender responses only.

Further information on the site visit is provided in the Introduction Document in Section 2 of the ITT.
