Description
University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, requires a provider for a Taxi Service at the Royal Lancaster infirmary (RLI), Lancaster, Westmorland General Hospital (WGH), Kendal and Furness general Hospital (FGH), Barrow in Furness area Inc Millom. The opportunity will be split into lots and the Tenderer can apply for one or both lots. University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust wishes to contract with a suitably experienced provider of Taxi Services for an initial period of 36 MONTHS, on a fixed price contract, with an option to extend the contract for up to an additional period of up to 12 months subject to continuing demand and/or satisfactory performance. Subject to activity and demand, there may also be a requirement to carry out ad-hoc discharges or transfers subject to authorisation from the appropriate Trust personnel. The provider will be required to provide a service as outlined in the specification, daily, every day during the contract period (weekends and Bank Holidays included), and the service provided must be promptly executed. Taxis must be available day and night to provide the service to the Trust as required. Taxis are booked for essential Trust business only, and some bookings will involve work, which is essential to the well-being and lives of the patients. Consequently, taxis must not be re-directed by the contractor for any reason whatsoever. Owning to the nature of the contract, in that future demand cannot be reasonably ascertained, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust will not guarantee or commit to an agreed workload with any supplier(s) selected to provide this service.
