The Council is currently seeking to appoint an experienced and qualified contractor to refurbish and enhance the playground at Gostrey Meadow. The playground is for children from 1 year to 11 years old and play equipment needs to provide interest across these ages. The new area will be 800 sq metres with a fence surrounding the playground and including an area of seating within the fenced area. The Council wishes to install modern, high quality and accessible friendly equipment to ensure that the play is inclusive for all children and an asset to the local community. Farnham Town Council would welcome ideas and recommendations for the site. Seating (both picnic and benches) areas are to be incorporated in the design. Soft landscaping areas to be included. To ensure all the surfacing materials used are designed, manufactured and installed to a current British Standards 1176 and 1177. Approved members of CHAS, API, ROSPA and Construction Line. The surface would need to be wet pour. To include relevant signage. The design would need to be colourful and innovative and reflect the surrounding environment. It also should be robust and anti vandal. All replacement parts should be readily available to reduce closures of certain play equipment. The construction would need to be done in two phases. Phase 1 will be the construction of 70 % of the play area including wet pour surface.
