Cleaning of Communal areas in HRA (Housing) Properties

Somerset Council has a need to procure one or more contractors to cover the cleaning of sheltered housing meeting halls, extra care housing facilities , communal areas within flat blocks, and to put in place ad-hoc arrangements in place, for example the removal of graffiti, deep cleaning and disposal of sharps. The requirement is divided into two workstreams as follows: Workstream 1 Communal cleaning in meeting halls and extra care schemes (including specification for adhoc deep cleans and other adhoc requirements) Workstream 2 Cleaning of communal areas in flat blocks (including specification for adhoc deep cleans and other adhoc requirements). Workstream 1 is being procured under Lot 1 Communal cleaning in meeting halls and extra care schemes (including specification for adhoc deep cleans and other adhoc requirements) Workstream 2 is being procured under two separate Lots, 2 and 3 as follows: Lot 2: 50% geographical split of cleaning of communal areas in flat blocks (including specification for adhoc deep cleans and other adhoc requirements). There are sub-Lots 2A and 2B to allow potential bidders to respond to potential service and price options. The preferred Lot for award is under sub-Lot 2A. Lot 2B will only be considered where there are no proposals under Lot A that meet the minimum standards required. Lot 3: 50% Geographical split of cleaning of communal areas in flat blocks (including specification for adhoc deep cleans and other adhoc requirements). There are sub-Lots 3A and 3B to allow potential bidders to respond to potential service and price options. The preferred Lot for award is under sub-Lot 3A. Lot 3B be will only be considered where there are no proposals under Lot A that meet the minimum standards required. The Council will only award one contract for one sub-Lot for Lot 2 and one sub-Lot for Lot 3. Applicants may bid for one, two or all three Lots and therefore the number of contracts awarded will be between 1 and 3.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE WINDOW FOR MANDATORY SITE VISITS HAS NOW CLOSED ON 08/11/2024. ANY SUPPLIER WHO SUBMITS A BID WITHOUT HAVING ATTENDED ONE OF THE MANDATORY SITE VISITS WILL UNFORTUNATELY NOT HAVE THEIR BID CONSIDERED IN THE EVALUATION STAGE OF THE TENDER. The Accommodation and Commercial Services department within the University of Sheffield wishes to work in partnership with a single contractor who is able to provide a service for the cleaning of its accommodation. This is to cover cleaning of accommodation when contracts end (mostly July, some in September and February), but also some conference business through the year. The contract end cleans will predominantly be Deep Cleaning, but may also include Standard Cleaning as the accommodation is used for summer guests (having already been deep cleaned, only a Standard Clean will be required). The full technical specification can be found in the ITT documentation which will be available after you have expressed your interest on In-Tend. The University of Sheffield is not a contracting authority for the purposes of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (Directive 2014/24/EU) as amended by the Public Procurement (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020. The University reserves the right from time to time to voluntarily operate under the Public Contract Regulations (as defined above) on a case by case basis. Otherwise, advertisement of any contract in Find a Tender Service or Contracts Finder is at the sole discretion of the University and is undertaken on a voluntary basis with no implied obligation to comply with the procurement legislation.
