Description

The planned introduction of construction of a third passenger platform with new lift and stairs from existing ticket office, including signalling works, SME works, new mess facility, new ticket line. This was discovered by Network Rail in there plan to develop stations like Salford Crescent to improve value of life within transport. Therefore, in response Network Rail have set out to start this improvement of Salford Crescent by upgrading the station with the listed above.
      
      The scheme is part of a package of proposed measures to improve the situations of current stations like Salford Crescent to help boost capacity and flow within the surrounding areas. This lies with one of many projects within the Manchester area that are set to be upgraded. A remodelling of the station at Salford Crescent, specifically a platform addition will be essential to accommodate the planned implementation of longer rolling stock services.
          
      Kier are seeking expressions of interest for early contractor engagement in relation to the Signage . The  package will consist of Signage at Salford Crescent, specifications to be confirmed. This will be the first official IDC/IDR to enable the progression of the first few design packages required for us to start on site in August 2025.
