Description

Bradford Mall Refurbishment

Walsall Council is looking to appoint one contractor from the Constructing West Midlands (CWM) Lot 1 Framework for the Design and Refurbishment of Bradford Mall, Saddlers Centre, using a two stage procurement process.

The site is located within Walsall town centre and is completely contained within the demise of the Saddlers shopping centre. The site comprises the existing lower floor of the Centre known as 'Bradford Mall'.

As part of the wider Connected Gateway Programme, the Bradford Mall refurbishment aims to strengthen Bradford Mall's retail offer by providing high quality finishes which, in turn, will improve the shopping experience for customers and retail operators. In the future vision of the Connected Gateway, Bradford Mall will form the main retail core of the existing Saddlers Centre.

The project is funded by Central Government Future High Streets (FHSF) monies and as a result must comply with strict funding deadlines and very limited budget flexibility. Programme is a key driver of the project both to achieve defrayment of FHSF funding and not cause knock on delays to the Connected Gateway and works to the upper mall (Park Mall).
