Description

To support the development of new low carbon sectors there will need to be the development of new high level green skills through the retraining and upskilling of existing workers alongside the recruitment of highly skilled workers to fill new high skilled green jobs

This WP will explore the different levers to unlock net zero skills delivery, including:
* To establish stronger partnership working between businesses/supply chain (demand-side) and skills providers (supply-side) to ensure the delivery of the Staffordshire Net Zero Roadmap (WP1) through the improvement of net zero skills supply and demand matching i.e. employers supporting net zero careers, education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) activities and co-developing net zero curriculum and training programmes.
* To establish a Staffordshire net zero skills development & investment plan, engaging Staffordshire post 16 education providers, that identifies a range of programmes/interventions that contributes towards Staffordshire net zero priorities and influences skills funding and delivery programmes i.e. embedding Net Zero skills into core curriculum similar to digital and more specific activity such as Green Skills Bootcamps.
* To explore the development of a business case for a green skills academy.
