Description

The University is awarding a contract to a Service Engineer to provide input at RIBA 2 associated with the feasibility to test a number of options within the Merck building for around six PBIH (Precision Biology Innovation Hub) projects without undertaking a deep retrofit.

Detailed Requirements: The services engineer's scope is to assist the other design team member to input to a RIBA 2 report for the initial works required in the Merck building at Chilworth Science Park; 

including:
• Review existing building services
• Advise on any short term plant replacement
• Attend weekly meetings
• Site visit
• Review as installed drawings
• Meet with UoS E & F colleagues to understand any LTM issues.

The City of London Corporation (The City) provides the usual local government services for the 'Square Mile', these include housing, refuse collection, education, social services, environmental health, and town planning. The City Surveyors Department is responsible for the management of the City's operational and investment properties, and for commissioning refurbishment and improvement works to the City's buildings. It is the mechanical and electrical services works associated with the Chiller, Heating & Sprinkler systems, Fire Alarm, Lighting & LV Distribution Replacement including LV Panel and Electrical Re-wire Works, at the London Metropolitan Archives. Please note that the London Metropolitan Archives are now officially known as the London Archives The City wishes to appoint Consultants for the whole design and construction process from suitably technically qualified and financially sound consultants. The Consultant will provide professional services as the Mechanical & Electrical Services Engineer for the design, tender and implementation of mechanical and electrical works. The Consultant Mechanical Services Engineer will be responsible for producing a fully detailed specification of works and tender drawings to enable a competitive tender to be sought for the works. Once approval for the works is given, the Consultant will manage and control the works on site through to completion. These works would usually form part of a cyclical works programme but have been combined into one Capital Project due to the timescales and nature of the site.
