Description

Leicester City Council ('the Authority') invited tenders for the provision of a Carer Support Service for Leicester. The Carers Support Service aims to achieve the following for all carers living or caring for someone that lives in Leicester:

- Support the health and wellbeing of adult carers over the age of 18 (and those young adult carers in transition), and ensure they are helped emotionally and practically, to meet their caring responsibilities and lead fulfilling independent lives.

- Help carers sustain their caring role thereby helping to prevent, reduce and delay the need for more intensive support.

- Educate health and social care organisations in Leicester in relation to the importance of identifying carers early on in their caring journey, promote the various strands of support that are offered by the service in order to prevent carer needs escalating.

The Contract will be for an initial period of 3 years to commence on 1st July 2024, with an option to extend, subject to satisfactory performance outcomes and agreement by the Authority, for a further period, or periods, up to a total of 2 years, taking the contract term to a maximum of 5 years up to 30th June 2029.

Holiday, Activities and Food (HAF) Programme - Round 2

Southend-on-Sea City Council are seeking to add additional suppliers to join the Framework Agreement for the provision of Holiday Activity and Food Programme Services (HAF) in Southend-on-Sea. The Healthy Activities and Food programme (HAF) has been funded by the Department for Education to deliver activities and food to vulnerable children during school holiday periods. The provision must be used to provide access to holiday activity programmes as follows: - At least 4 hours for 4 days a week for 4 weeks the Summer, and a week in Easter and a week at Christmas - Inclusive and accessible provision - Provision offered to all Benefits related FSM children of statutory school age in Southend-on-Sea. Semi-Independent Supported Housing for Homeless People

The Council wishes to procure units of semi-independent supported housing for homeless people, aged 18+ For some homeless people, a hostel is not the optimal setting in which to develop independent living skills. A protracted stay in a hostel, particularly as independence develop and grows, can be counter-productive for some vulnerable people. Similarly, a hostel may not always be the appropriate environment for those residents that have fewer, or less complex presenting issues, or those that already have some degree of independent living skills, as the time spent by staff providing support can often be monopolised by those residents that present with chaotic behaviours. It is expected that the target Service User profile for this service will have fewer or less complex support needs than their peers in other homeless services. This is not to say that the target service user profile will not present with any support needs, but rather it is intended that this service will be aimed at those that may have already spent time in more intensive supported housing but who no longer require that level of support; or that they may have previously held a tenancy. The service will be expected to deliver housing-related support that is designed to maximise a person's ability to live independently and will cover aspects such as Physical/Mental Health, Finance & Budgeting, Employment, Training or Education etc. The Council is seeking bids that propose the use of dispersed single-occupancy accommodation, rather than group living.
