Description
In line with the strategic direction of the Local Transport Plan, Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) is working on developing mass rapid transit solutions as part of an integrated public transport network in the West Midlands. The term Mass Rapid Transit is used as a mode agnostic term covering large capacity, fixed route, timetabled public transport solutions encompassing rail, light rail, bus rapid transit etc. This is done to try and prevent a focus on a specific solution or output when developing schemes. As part of the development, focus will be placed on specific outcomes and impacts. As a result, the development work will be problem-led and evidence based to ensure an objective assessment of the right intervention, in the right place at the right time. In conjunction with Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council (WMBC), Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) and Dudley Borough Council (DBC), TfWM is issuing this brief to appoint a suitable consultant to undertake the development of an Options Assessment for the Walsall to Stourbridge Corridor.
