Description

Together Housing Group wishes to engage a service provider for external audit services in respect of the financial year commencing 1st April 2024, therefore the first audit will be of the financial statements for the year ended 31st March 2025. The financial year is from 1st April to 31st March so this date coincides with the start of the annual audit/financial cycle. 
      The Audit 
      Together Housing Group's objectives for this tender process are to appoint a firm who: 
      o Has extensive experience in auditing financial statements for Registered Providers in England of similar or larger size and complexity through its external audit service
      o Is a high-quality provider, with high standards of professional service for the delivery of external audit services 
      o Will deliver the service from an office based in the North of England in order to attend in person planning and committee meetings if required
      o Will be in place in readiness for the review of the financial statements for the year to 31 March 2025 
      o Will maximise the use of technology, client self-service and automation to facilitate the process
      o Will identify and set out principal audit requirements (Prepared by Client (PBC) list) well in advance
      o Will provide excellent value for money 
      o Can provide an audit partner and team who will add value to our services and who have broad industry experience and knowledge
      o Can demonstrate resilience (in the event of a loss of key contact personnel)
      o Works well with finance teams 
      o Provides access to seminars, briefings on key issues, financial reporting, taxation, budget updates and other non-sector intelligence
      o Demonstrates broad and extensive corporate resources.

Leaseholder Service Charge Audit

Anchor will require the following leaseholder service charge audits/services based on:- - Preparing the service charge statement in accordance with Tech 03/11 Residential Service Charge Accounts published jointly by the professional accountancy bodies with ARMA and RICS; - Anchor will make available all relevant information and documentation in relation to which your procedures are to be performed including transaction list and trial balance spreadsheet for each home as well as relevant information requested upon sampling; - Maintaining proper accounting records in relation to the premises in respect of which a service charge statement is prepared; - Ensuring your compliance with the requirements of the Landlord and Tenant Acts 1985 and 1987; - Safeguarding the assets relevant to the service charge statement and preventing and detecting fraud, error and non-compliance with law or regulations. Additional information: Ensuring that all arithmetic on the service charge statements is correct. Your procedures will be performed in order to detect any mathematical errors in the calculations made by Anchor. Agreeing all entries on the service charge statements to supporting working papers and income and expenditure data for the service charge period. Agreeing a sample of expenditure declared in the statement of expenditure to invoices / other supporting documentation and evidence of payment to ensure that: - expenditure is eligible under the Anchor Hanover Group's agreement with their tenants - expenditure included in the certificate is defrayed in the correct service charge period; and - apportionments included in the certificate for admin costs and overheads are on a basis that is consistent with the Anchor Hanover Group's internal systems The above agreed procedures will be performed having regard to Tech 03/11 Residential Service Charge Accounts published jointly by the professional accountancy bodies with ARMA and RICS.
