Description
A staged commission is required to undertake before, during and after noise monitoring for the M27 Junction 10 Improvement scheme, which is due to start at the end of July 2024 with completion planned for the end of 2026. (The scheme is currently pending a decision to proceed to construction). It is anticipated that once the necessary agreements are in place, the main works will commence later this month. Noise monitoring is required before and after the main works, to be undertaken by an experienced /specialist team to provide a robust evidence base to counter any potential claims. The before surveys need to commence as soon as possible ideally in July / August, noting the main works will commence imminently. (It is acknowledged that the surveys should ideally be undertaken to avoid school summer holidays, however this may not be feasible given planned works for September.) • The County Council will commission the before and after noise monitoring to cover any potential claims under Part 2 of the Land and Compensation Act 1973 which may arise from 12 months after scheme completion; and • It is anticipated that the contractor Volker Fitzpatrick will issue a separate but related commission for the noise monitoring during the main works in anticipation of any potential claims that may arise throughout the duration of the works, based on the same or different locations and dependent upon specific 'noisy' site activity.
