Description
The Local Authority has a statutory duty to support reasonable adjustments for deaf children. Part of the way we fulfil this duty is to provide assistive listening devices(ALD) to support their access to education. This is usually done by providing an Assitive Listening Device to work alongside their personal amplification. The health authority provides and fits the personal hearing aids and cochlear implants for CYP which the ALD then connects to provide better listening within the classroom and outside. It is critical that the children and young people have access to the best audition (listening) that they can so the equipment needs to be of high quality and connectivity with the personal hearing devices.
