Description

Commissioners in Mid and South Essex wish to provide their patients with a choice of providers who can deliver high quality elective care in accordance with the terms of this agreement and in particular all relevant Guidance. 
The service provided under this notice will be for Elective Services under patient choice provision.
The services being commissioned are:
1. General Ophthalmology Services
2. Glaucoma Services
3. AMD Services
4. Cataract Services
This contract award has been made following Direct Award Process B under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 and the Public Contract Regulations 2015 (as amended) do not apply.
The contract is awarded with no guarantee of activity. The value will vary dependent upon the activity delivered and tariff is reflective of National Tariff Payment System (NTPS)

PSR Competitive Procedure for the Provision of Insourced Ophthalmology Services - HUTH<br/>CPV: 85121281-6 Ophthalmologist Services<br/>Contract for the period 01/04/2025 to 31/03/2026 with option to extend for a further 3 months.<br/>Estimated contract value £1,000,000 for the initial 12 month term (£1,250,000 inc. 3mth extension option).<br/><br/>Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) plan to work in partnership with the provider to facilitate provision of additional Ophthalmology outpatient clinics in support of a focussed backlog clearance programme.<br/><br/>The supplier will provide appropriately qualified and experienced staff to support sub-specialty new and outpatient procedures (inc. follow-up patients) but maybe extended to support other areas if required. The staffing required will be appropriately qualified and experienced Consultant Ophthalmologists and support staff including Imaging Technicians, Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Orthoptists and Optometrists.<br/><br/>HUTH will identify a cohort of Ophthalmology patients who require an outpatient appointment or procedure to be seen through the term of the contract. <br/>The Supplier will source and provide sub-specialty consultants for the sessions, with any consultant requiring service approval in advance via a CV review. Patients will be reviewed in a face to face clinic, primarily on the Hull Royal Infirmary site.<br/><br/>2025/26 Activity - Ophthalmology Clinics 2025/26.<br/>200 New Glaucoma Clinics = 2000 patients (3 clinician full days)<br/>104 New Neuro Clinics = 832 patients (2 clinician full days + ad hoc Orthoptic support for 15 clinics)<br/>104 New MR Clinics = 832 patients (1 clinician full day)<br/>60 New VR Clinics = 480 patients (1 clinician full day)<br/>60 New Oculoplastic Clinics = 480 patients (1 clinician full day)<br/>50 YAG Clinics = 600 patients<br/><br/>Minimum requirement is 400 patient appointment per month in the variety of sub-specialties listed
