Description

Providing additional advice on the trial set up, as and when needed and lead on cognitive testing of the questionnaires and student interviews, as well as undertake the analysis of the quantitative data.

The intervention is a suite of three linked Public, Social, Health, Economic (PSHE) lessons on the topic of consent and the law, which have been developed by the PSHE Association and will be taught to young people aged between 13-15 (either Year 9 or Year 10 students). The College will measure the relative impact of two modes of implementation of the intervention:
a.	where the three lessons are taught by a teacher and police officer sequentially (i.e., lesson 1 delivered by a teacher, lesson 2 by a police officer and lesson 3 by a teacher)
b.	where only teachers deliver the three lessons
The overarching aim of this research is to determine whether a police-facilitated lesson (compared with wholly teacher-facilitated lessons and also normal PSHE provision) helps young people to develop their knowledge about consent and the law, build students' trust and confidence in the police as well as confidence in recognising and reporting instances where sexual consent is breached.
