Description

The purpose of this contract is to ensure that single people in County Durham who are rough sleeping have an option of immediate access accommodation, along with a tailored and holistic approach to meeting the support needs of the individual.

The contract will provide a total of 5 (five) 'somewhere safe to stay' (ssts) bed spaces. Somewhere safe to stay provides short term accommodation (up to 7 days) with assessments and support for rough sleepers who are not owed statutory homeless duties or found in priority need. Providers will need to support service users in sourcing move on accommodation in liaison with Durham County Council's Rough Sleeper Team. Somewhere safe to stay is provided under Rough Sleeper Initiative Fund (RSI).

Provision of Counselling Supervision

The Service to be provided Counsellors are required to have clinical supervision, which is focused on ensuring safe and effective practice. Wrexham County Borough Council wishes to appoint Counselling Supervisors to provide the support required by counsellors and also to ensure the provision of a high-quality service to children and young people. What commissioners are asking for? The Provider will support counsellors through the supervisory process in maintaining a current awareness of best practice in open, unlimited counselling as well as time limited counselling, and in implementing this within both professional and service policies, standards and guidelines. Who the Service is for The service will be provided for counsellors responsible for providing counselling to children and young people. Each Supervisory Counsellor will work with a maximum of 8 counsellors.

Adults DA Community Service

The Community Safety Team, with a contribution from Public Health, has commissioned a Domestic Abuse Specialist Community Support Service since 2014. Previously this was funded through the Community Safety Fund allocated to the Community Safety Partnership from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, however since 2022 it has been funded through DMBC Domestic Abuse funding, with a continued contribution from Public Health. The service provides free, independent, flexible and time-limited specialist support to individuals who meet the eligibility criteria. The service is responsive to the needs of all victims, regardless of ethnic background, including male victims, older victims, younger victims and LGBTQ+ victims to ensure appropriate access and effective support to individuals that is structured and outcomes focused. It also works effectively with other local domestic abuse service providers/partners. Dudley MBC plan to re-commission this contract for 12 months from 1st April 2026.
