Description

Colchester Borough Homes on behalf of Colchester City Council (the Council) wishes to commission a contractor to install selective planned upgrading of thermal elements to the housing stock. The properties are selected on their current energy performance and are distributed randomly geographically throughout the borough of Colchester.
      
      The works consist of the following:
      
      •Loft insulation upgrades and provision of new loft hatches.
      •Increased roof void ventilation including associated alterations to soffit.
      •Cavity wall insulation retrofitting.
      •Asbestos removal if required.
      •Comply with and report on fire stopping/resistance requirements and issues following survey.

Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
        
        The contract is initially for 12 months, but with the option of a further 3x1 year extensions, subject to performance.
        
        The contra award value has been estimated, as this is the councils budget and the award has been based on a schedule of rates.
