In accordance with the ESPO Framework Reference: 306 Electrical Testing Service : Lot One : West Midlands Fire and Rescue Authority ("the Authority") is conducting this procurement for the purpose of procuring provision of service to carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) to West Midlands Fire service properties in line with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.The portable electrical appliance shall be an item of equipment which is not part of a fixed installation but is, or is intended to be, connected to a fixed installation, or a generator, by means of a flexible cable and a plug and socket.

The Contractor shall identify each portable electrical appliance with a unique number permanently affixed to the appliance. The individual sockets of multi-socket boards/blocks and extension leads shall be individually identified. The number together with a description of the appliance shall be entered onto report forms which shall be submitted to the Facilities Management Administrator.

TD2236 - Electrical Equipment & Fixed Wire Testing Services

Derby City Council (the Council) is undertaking this procurement to establish a contract for electrical equipment and fixed wire testing. The procurement process adopted by the Council is based on the 'Open' tendering procedure as detailed in the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The initial contract period is two (2) years; the contract is estimated to commence on Tuesday 1st July 2025 and expire on Wednesday 30th June 2027. There will be an option to extend the contract for three (3) years in annual increments, subject to satisfactory performance and business needs. The maximum contract period is five (5) years. Bidders should note that as procurement has commenced before 24th February 2025, it is and will continue to be regulated by the Public Contract Regulations 2015 and not The Procurement Act 2023.
