Description

This is an Intention to Award notice for NHS Cheshire and Merseyside ICB - Knowsley Place who intend to award a further 3 year contract to Listening Ear (Merseyside) for the provision of a counselling service for adults in Knowsley. The new contract will commence on 1 April 2024 and expire on 31 March 2027. The provider holds the current contract.
The decision has been taken to award the contract to this provider due to excellent performance, proven value for money and demonstrable achievement of the key criteria for Direct Award Process C. The provider plays a crucial part in the mental health care pathway in Knowsley.

Provision of Occupational Health Services

The Trust requires two Occupational Health Physician(s), with at least one physician provided being a Consultant Occupational Health Physician who is a Member of the Faculty of Occupational Health Medicine (MFOHM). Other services such as a specialist nurse, screening nurse, physiotherapy and counselling are provided in house. As the service is nurse led the required Occupational Health Physician(s) acts as clinical lead. Whilst the Head of Occupational Health and Wellbeing is accountable for operational and service management, the Occupational Health Physician(s) will support service development, clinical leadership, clinical governance activity, including clinical audit, clinical guideline, approve written instructions for vaccinations and protocol development and clinical risk management. The Occupational Health Physician(s) will be expected to work closely with Human Resources (HR) Business Partners, individual managers, and colleagues, such as Infection Control as required.
