Description

Natural England is the governments' adviser on the Natural Environment in England and is an executive non-departmental public body sponsored by DEFRA.

Within this contract, Natural England were seeking suitably qualified suppliers to provide resource estimates for a forthcoming project based on the Humberhead Peatlands National Nature Reserve (NNR).

National Nature Reserves (NNRs) were established to protect some of our most important habitats, species and geology, and to provide 'outdoor laboratories' for research. Most NNRs offer great opportunities to schools, specialist interest groups and the public to experience wildlife at first hand and to learn more about nature conservation.

Prospective suppliers must have had the capabilities and capacity to install power via the existing distribution network, to a workshop/reserve base on the Humberhead Peatlands NNR. The Requirement was for a new 2 C low voltage connection to the Distribution System (with a maximum capacity of 55 kVA at the pumping station and workshop). Due to the ground conditions, the methodology must have incorporated the usage of overhead power cables.
