Description

This contract is for the provision of a range of language services to all NHSBSA staff and services.

The overarching requirement and objective is to provide translation services for our customers and other users. The primary requirement is for telephone translations however there is also a need for written and face to face translation on an ad-hoc basis. Key outputs and deliverables are:  

- To provide a professional on demand telephone translation service with the ability to hold a three-way conversation with NHSBSA contact centre agents and our customers during our contact centre opening hours.  

- To provide written translation for correspondence received from customers by post and by email to meet the agreed response times to customers.

- To translate written correspondence from the NHSBSA in the form of letters, forms or online information where necessary into other languages or formats such as braille.

- To provide face to face translation such as British Sign Language for job applicants during the recruitment process and for members of the public during user research.

This contract period will be from 23/03/2024 until 22/03/2028.

Interpretation and Translation Services

The council is procuring a contract for the provision of Interpretation and Translation Service for a term of up to 2 years. Please refer to the schedule 2 service specification of the tender documents for further details (available via The Chest - see below). The council proposes to enter into the Contract for an initial term of one year with the successful Tenderer (Service Provider). The initial term is 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026. There is 1 optional extension available of up to 12 months. Use of this optional extension is at the absolute discretion of the council. If the optional extensions is used, the Contract will end on 31st March 2027. The estimated total value of the Contract Agreement for the 1 year initial term is £200,000 excluding VAT. The maximum value of the contract plus the optional extension of 1 year is £400,000 excluding VAT. Details of expenditure and extension periods are indicative only.
