Description

NHS Shared Business Services act in an Agency capacity for and on behalf of its customers (Approved Organisations) - existing and new. These comprise of NHS and Social Care organisations (whether acting individually, or on behalf of, or together as members of any consortia) along with any other public or private sector bodies which NHS SBS authorises to use the resulting Framework/Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS).

NHS Shared Business Services Limited (NHS SBS) has put in place a Framework Agreement for the provision of Design, Furniture and Appliances and related Goods and Services for Healthcare to be used by NHS SBS Approved Organisations.

Additional information: The Framework Agreement procurement was undertaken as an Open Procedure.

The Framework Agreement will commence on 8th February 2024 and end on 7th February 2028.

The contract will be awarded for 48 months.  

Some purchases under this Framework Agreement may have requirements that can be met under this Framework Agreement but the purchase of which may be exempt from the Procurement Regulations. In such cases, Call-off Contracts from this Framework will be unregulated purchases for the purposes of the Procurement Regulations, and Approved Organisations may, at their discretion, modify the terms and conditions of any Call-off Contracts to reflect that Approved Organisation's specific needs.

Supply of high density stacking chairs and dolly/carts

1. General Description • The high-density stacking chair shall be designed for public and commercial environments such as conference rooms, event halls, and multi-use facilities. The chair must be ergonomic, durable, space-efficient, and easy to handle during setup and storage. • 400 chairs are required as well as the necessary equipment to move 300 of these chairs. 2. Construction Requirements 2.1 Frame • Material: High-strength steel or aluminium tubing. • Finish: Powder-coated or chrome-plated for corrosion resistance and aesthetic durability. • Welding: All joints must be fully welded or securely fastened to ensure structural integrity. 2.2 Seat and Backrest • Material: A durable and wipeable material. Preference will be given to recycled and recyclable materials. • Ergonomics: Contoured for user comfort for long periods. • Colour Options: Range of standard colours required, with optional custom finishes 3. Performance and Durability 3.1 Durability • Must comply with or exceed BS EN16139:2013 level 2: severe contract use 3.2 Linking • The chairs should be able to be linked. 3.3 Floor Protection • Non-marking glides or caps on legs. • Optional ganging clips for connecting multiple chairs securely. 3.4 Stacking Capability • Must stack a minimum of 20 chairs high on a dolly/cart. • Without dolly: minimum of 8-10 chairs high, stable and secure. • Chairs must not damage each other during stacking. 4. Portability and Handling • Chairs must be easy to lift and move by one person. • Stack cart/dolly must be compatible and available as an accessory. 5. Safety and Compliance • Compliant with relevant fire and safety standards. • No sharp edges or pinch points. • Materials must be recyclable or meet sustainability criteria where possible. 6. Warranty • Minimum 3-year warranty covering materials and workmanship under normal public use. 7. Other considerations • The Council will require to see a sample of the proposed chair option(s) to test their comfort. 8. Date of supply • The chairs need to be supplied to site in the month of August, 2025.
