Decoration and General Maintenance Work- The Esplanade

Gentoo Group owns and manages approximately 28,000 properties across the boundaries of Sunderland, Houghton, Hetton and Washington. A number of these properties are located within low, medium and high-rise blocks. Gentoo is currently inviting tenders from suitably qualified and experienced Providers in relation to entering into a sole supplier agreement to provide decoration and general maintenance work on a listed terrace of properties, with four blocks situated at The Esplanade, Ashbrooke, Sunderland, SR2 7BQ. The Esplanade is a Listed terrace of properties, with four blocks owned and managed by Gentoo Group. The blocks are a mixture of leasehold and market rate rentals to private individuals. Some leasehold properties have been sublet on the open market. The site overall will be shared with the private blocks, neighbouring businesses and private properties at the rear on Duro Terrace. The works will include for external and internal decoration of all Gentoo Group blocks, communal areas, including shared store cupboards and WC's and the boundary finishes. Externally, general maintenance works and repairs will also be included such as gutter clearance/repairs, render and stonework repairs and metalwork repairs to gates and perimeter fencing. Internally there will be some isolated areas of damp and water ingress repairs to complete prior to the decoration. As part of the works there will be a package of surveys to be undertaken to scope repairs to the stonework around the property and the joinery and window frames. The contractor will be expected to scope the repairs during the tender period and then provide detailed reports once awarded the contract to allow for the information to be submitted to Listed Building Control for consent.

The Science Museum Group is the world's pre-eminent Museum devoted to the history of science, technology, industry and Medicine. The SMG incorporates the Science Museum (South Kensington, London), the National Railway Museum (York), Locomotion: The National Railway Museum (Shildon), the National Science & Media Museum (Bradford), Museum of Science and Industry (Manchester) and collections stores at Blythe House (Olympia) and National Collections Centre (Wiltshire). The SMG has the status of a Non-Departmental Public Body and is accountable through the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport for the expenditure of its Grant-in Aid. It is also regarded as holding charitable and educational status. The SMG functions as an individual entity with the purpose of responsibility for the care and promotion of its collection and for the associated events and educational programmes. Background The Authority wishes to establish an Agreement for the provision of AV Integration for the Future of Food exhibition, the "Services". Under the SMG procurement policy, the Authority shall review all potential providers against standards of technical or professional ability and economic and financial standing details of which are covered in this document. Prior to commencing formal evaluation, Tender Responses will be checked to ensure they are fully compliant with the conditions of Tender.
