Description

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is looking for suitably qualified training and development applicants to be appointed onto a flexible purchasing system (FPS) for the provision of a range of training solutions for the adult social care and public health workforce.  Training solutions provided to the authority must be based on person-centred values and principles and support high quality services and improved outcomes for customers through the provision of a competent, capable, and skilled workforce.  
Adult social care comprises personal care and practical support for older adults who cannot manage the tasks of everyday life and for working-age adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, or physical or mental illnesses. It also includes support for their carers and personal assistants.
Public Health centres around protecting and improving the health of the population and the local community, through various means at all life stages to improve health outcomes for Rotherham residents. The audience may include wider public health workforce, businesses/ employers and/or residents themselves. 
The Learning and development FPS will provide the Authority with the opportunity to procure a range of services within the scope of learning and development. And will be split into 13 different lots, which are listed within this notice. The rules of the FPS permit additional lots to be added to the FPS, subject to remaining within the same scope.

Teaching Internships Programme 2026,2027,2028

The Department for Education (DfE) is inviting applications from schools to deliver the 2026, 2027 and 2028 Teaching Internships Programme. Successful applicants will be awarded a 3-year grant funding agreement to design and deliver a three-week teaching internship, which typically takes place towards the end of each academic year in June and July. Teaching internships are available for undergraduates in their second, third or final year, and master's students, who are studying for a degree in STEM-related subjects and modern foreign languages. Participating schools are expected to deliver the following outcomes: A Teaching Internships programme targeted at undergraduates in their second, third or final years, and master's students, who could potentially teach maths, physics, chemistry, computing, design and technology or modern foreign languages. In summer 2026, we are piloting the inclusion of design and technology internships. A recruitment strategy that will attract students in the target group to teach maths, physics, chemistry, computing, design and technology and modern foreign languages. A programme that offers interns the chance to gain a deep understanding and first-hand experience of teaching.
