Senior Leadership Team Development Programme

The Centre for Health Technology Evaluation (CHTE) Directorate develops guidance on the use of new and existing medicines, treatments and surgical procedures within the NHS. The Directorate is currently split into 2 main teams, the Medicines and Health Tech teams, which are each overseen by an Executive Director reporting into NICE's CEO, and a small Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Both the Medicines and Health Tech SLTs are currently seeking to develop and establish new ways of improving the performance and culture of their respective teams. For both, the priority is to develop the ability to better balance the aspiration of producing robust, high-quality guidance, with a greater emphasis on commercial and operational effectiveness, especially in relation to business management (including effective and timely cost-recovery) and in terms of achieving greater efficiency in meeting the tight delivery timescales/ flexibility expected by external stakeholders. This needs to be achieved while also creating a positive and progressive workplace culture aligned to NICE's values and behaviours. We wish to commission development services for both the Medicines and Health Tech SLTs, so they can effectively lead their teams through this process of refresh and improvement. An important part of this is to support the two teams to build stronger relationships with other teams across NICE, including with each other. To apply please download the attached specification and tender documents, and email your intention to bid to [email protected] with your contact details, we will use this only to disseminate the responses to any questions we receive.
