Description

The Council wishes to establish Contracts for the provision of two Public Health Services: Adult Weight Management Disability Service and Children & Families Weight Management Service.
      
      The Services have been split into 2 Lots as listed below:
      
      Lot 1: Adult Weight Management Disability Service
      
      A minimum 12-week, Tier 2 NICE evidence-based weight management programme including:
      o A thorough assessment of the individual to understand their needs
      o Resources and programme design that is accessible for all with a disability; this includes session content, follow on content and any activities engaged in during the programme, particularly physical activity. 
      o Consideration of other contributing factors such as medication/underlying health conditions and how they affect the individual and their ability to change
      o The staff who deliver the intervention must be personable and flexible in their approaches to support people.
      o Open to participants who are awaiting surgery but need to lose weight to be able to have the surgery; introductory periods and nutritional support should be provided in the first instance. 
      o Partnering with local and national charities and organisations in the engagement and coproduction of this service
      
      The contract for Adult Weight Management Disability Service will last for a period of 2 years commencing 2nd January 2024 with an option to extend for a further period of 2 years (2+2), subject to satisfactory performance and budgetary  availability.  
      
      Lot 2: Children & Families Weight Management Service
      
      The Service will provide safe, effective, age-appropriate, evidence based, Tier 2 behavioural weight management support for children aged 5-12, who have a BMI Z-score over the 91st centile and their families, to move towards and maintain a healthier weight.  
      
      The contract for Children & Families Weight Management Service will last for a period of 2 years commencing 2nd January 2024 with an option to extend for a further two 12-month extensions (2+1+1) subject to satisfactory performance and budgetary availability.  
      
      Bidders may bid for one or both Lots however, separate contracts will be awarded for each Lot. In the event that one Provider bids for both Lots and is successful for both, the two contracts will be awarded to the Provider. 
      
      TUPE information will be released to tenderers upon receipt of a signed copy of Appendix 6 - TUPE Confidentiality Agreement. You are advised to fill this in as soon as possible on receipt and return via the correspondence function on In-tend.
      
      The Council will be using its free to use e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration of this procurement process and potential suppliers must register with the system to be able to express an interest.
