Description

Following Local Government Reorganisation in Cumbria, the Open Framework for the Provision of Apprenticeships Framework is now hosted by Westmorland and Furness Council (the Council). As statutory successors of Cumbria County Council, Westmorland and Furness Council and Cumberland Council, and Cumbria Commissioner Fire and Rescue Authority are all eligible to use the framework.

Placements for apprenticeships will be made by Westmorland and Furness Council (the Council) on behalf of each of the following councils/authority:

Westmorland and Furness Council
Cumberland Council
Cumbria Commissioner Fire and Rescue Authority

The Council aims to develop a healthy and committed apprenticeship workforce that is flexible, agile, suitably skilled and works as one team to meet the future needs of the local communities we serve.

The Council is seeking to appoint an apprenticeship training provider (the Provider) committed to working in partnership to maximise the knowledge, skills, and behaviours of its apprenticeship workforce, including developing and supporting those learners who may have additional needs.

The training provider (the Provider) is invited to submit a tender to deliver the apprenticeship as detailed in this service specification.

This service specification sets out the conditions under which the Provider will provide the services purchased by the Council; it should be read in conjunction the Council's Apprenticeship Framework document, and with the relevant strategic and workforce plans of each council/authority.

The Provider shall deliver the apprenticeship training and on-programme assessment under the national Apprenticeship Funding Rules, Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Act and Apprenticeship Levy requirements.

The contract length will be for 2 years, with the option of one 6-month extension, and the number of apprenticeships required is unlimited. Specific details of the numbers of apprenticeships required, such as start dates and location will be issued to and agreed with the Provider.
