This contract is for the supply and delivery of Handheld Laser Speed Detection Cameras on behalf of the Chief Constables of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary and Thames Valley Police, for the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit to deter and record motorists from exceeding the speed limit. 

Laser speed detection devices with video overlay are hand held devices that when pointed at a moving object/vehicle it will use pulses of light to calculate the speed of that object/vehicle, the video overlay captures a short video clip of the detection vehicle and records the same for evidential purposes. These devices are a portable version of the equipment currently used in camera safety vans.  

The contract is for an initial 2 years with the option to extend for a further 2 years on a 2 +1 +1 basis.
