Description

South Lanarkshire Council has a requirement under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 and the Manual Handling Operations Regulation 1992 to deliver the appropriate training courses to its employees. There is an ongoing requirement for employees to obtain operator training in the following areas: lifting and access equipment, hand held plant, operation of mobile and small plant, and there is a requirement for the following accreditations: IPAF, PASMA, NPROS Accredited and City & Guilds various levels.

This is a compact but intensive course targeted at Environment Agency Geoscience staff who need to understand groundwater chemistry within a short time as part of a Continuous Professional Development programme. The main objectives are as follows: • To produce engaging and graphical training material that gives a fundamental understanding of groundwater chemistry in different geological environments and methods for investigating them. • To produce and deliver a training course in a blended learning format. • To provide engaging post-course material that staff can use for self or group study.
