Description

A major output of IfATE's commitment to gathering and acting on insights from stakeholders will be the publication of our vision for an integrated skills system, using the insights from The Big Conversation in March 2023. This report will synthesize insight from stakeholders about all aspects of the Integrated Skills System and set out what we think the skills system should look like in the future and how we'll get there. The Integrated Skills System is the umbrella term which IfATE uses to describe the elements that make up the skills system, for example range of qualifications; ability to progress through qualifications; consistency of landscape; and ability of qualifications and apprenticeships to support national priorities like increasing productivity and Levelling Up.

Research Web Scraping ECI Labour Market

The ECITB wishes to appoint a provider to fulfil its requirement for a research project to develop comprehensive labour market intelligence for the Engineering Construction Industry by using web scraping techniques to analyse job advertisements from online platforms. This project seeks to: • Understand the evolving skills landscape within the ECI sector. • Map the geographical and sectoral distribution of skills demand. • Provide evidence-based insights to support workforce development strategies. The following objectives will guide the research: 1. Identify which vacancy platforms ECI employers use. 2. Develop and implement web scraping algorithms to extract job posting data from Indeed, Glassdoor, LinkedIn and other platforms. 3. Create and enhance an occupational and skills taxonomy for the ECI built upon SOC codes with additional ECI-specific classifications. 4. Analyse the extracted data to identify skills gaps, emerging skills requirements and high-demand occupations across regions and sectors. 5. Quantify occupational shortages and estimate occupational demands across ECI sectors and regions. 6. Produce periodic reports and dashboards to inform ECITB's stakeholders. 7. The initial Contract term will be for six (6) months, with an optional extension of three (3) months, commencing late August 2025. Local Plan Viability Study - London Borough of Sutton

The London Borough of Sutton is preparing a new Local Plan. The plan will feature revised planning policies and be supported by an objective and robust evidence base. A key part of the evidence base will be a whole-plan Viability Study, which will directly inform the Council's decisions on the effectiveness of draft strategic policies and site allocations across the borough. The Authority wishes to commission consultants to undertake a whole-plan Viability Study, which will comprise robust assessment of development viability across a range of development site typologies which are expected to come forward over the local plan period. Analysis is expected to include an appraisal of the impacts on viability from key policy criteria targets, for example: affordable housing percentages, biodiversity net gain, and net zero carbon. The analysis and conclusions from the whole-plan Viability Study will inform the new Sutton Local Plan, which will cover the period from 2024 to 2041.
