Description
The distribution, storage and management of Fruit and Vegetables products under the School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme ("DISFVS") is a Government funded initiative that supplies a piece of fruit or vegetable to all key stage 1 children (ages 4-7) in England for consumption up to 190 days each academic year - (the "proposed product Lines") and distribution to schools within England (the "Customer(s)"). Currently over 16 600 primary schools (circa 2 300 000 children) take part in the scheme in England. NHS Supply Chain: Food is seeking to Award a Distributor(s) for the Distribution of Fruit and Vegetables under the School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme. The Awarded Distributor(s) will be responsible for the supply, storage,management and distribution of the Goods to all Schools within the scheme in England. It is anticipated that in the first year of the Framework Agreement the value will be in the region of £13,000,000 to £15,000,000. For the full term the anticipated value is between £52,000,000 and £60,000,000. These values are approximate only and are based on the most recent historical usage information, with a forecasted level of growth, and upon the assumption that funding for the School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme will remain.
