Description

East Cambridgeshire District Council (ECDC) is looking to regenerate the existing features in Newnham Street Car Park, Ely

The location is to be enhanced by upgrading the existing features and to create some new parking bays in the existing car park to the attached design.

ECDC are looking to regenerate the entrance area to Newnham Street car park by installing new pathway and features through to the car park along with the creation of new parking spaces for disabled users and motorbikes along with replanting and planting of plants and trees to help with climate change.
The project will require the Contractor to fully risk assess and CAT scan the area prior to any works being under taken to ensure there are no underground pipework or cables that will require moving.
There is not any mains voltage onsite therefore contractors may wish to consider power requirements.
Adequate provision must be provided to ensure the utmost safety to the public whilst onsite and ensure that staff onsite comply with the Covid-19 guidelines in place at the time of working.
There is no onsite secure storage. The Contractor must provide details of the storage container in advance of the activity.
Any vehicles would need to park next to the area of the works and minimise the reduction of useable spaces in the car park whilst the works are being undertaken.
Contractors may wish to consider temporary security fencing to be hired.

Operation of Barrowell Green Reuse and Recycling Centre for The London Borough of Enfield

The London Borough of Enfield is inviting potential Suppliers to submit tender responses to provide recycling and reuse services for Enfield residents at the Barrowell Green Recycling Centre. This is with a view of expanding from the current service from household waste to potentially including the ability for trade and commercial vehicles to use the site. The Council will award to either Lot 1 or Lot 2, not both. Lot 1 Operate the Barrowell Green site as a recycling and reuse centre (RRC) for household waste only with permits in place for vans and other vehicles as is the current model of service delivery. Lot 2 Operate the Barrowell Green site as a recycling and reuse centre (RRC) for both Commercial and Household Waste. To note: Lot 2 has an estimated value of £0 as this approach will be working towards a cost neutral position for the Authority. The duration of the Contract will be a fixed term of 5 years, with the option of a 2 year extension period. Please note: The Authority will be holding site visit days at the Barrowell Green Recycling Centre on the 16th and 17th April 2025.
