Description

AeroSpace Cornwall supports businesses to develop products, services and technologies which can be sold into the aerospace and space supply chain(s). 

Several businesses have identified challenges developing and selling products and services into these markets without the appropriate legal knowledge to ensure collaboration contracts are sound and any future commercial considerations are prepared for effectively. 

Many of the business approaching AeroSpace Cornwall have not considered how they will protect and commercialise the intellectual property (IP) generated through R&D project activity. This is especially important in collaborative R&D projects where arising IP is shared between the parties involved and SME's can often be at a disadvantage compared to larger entities with in-house legal advisors. Support is required for a number of businesses with IP, R&D collaboration agreements and contracts before, during and after R&D activity has taken place.

There is a requirement for an appropriately qualified legal expert to transfer knowledge of the legal aspects of IP associated with R&D activity to support businesses in overcoming these challenges.

NDNS biomonitoring for exposure to food additives

This research project aims to make progress towards a better understanding of actual UK consumer exposure to food additives. The aim is investigation of an approach for estimating exposure to food additives through measurement of biomarkers in biological samples taken as part of the National Diet and Nutrition Survey (NDNS). The FSA is currently working with a research partner to measure concentrations of biomarkers of food additives (specifically non-sugar sweeteners) in NDNS urine samples, using analytical chemistry techniques. Following completion of the analytical measurements, the FSA is seeking to commission further research to analyse and interpret the results, to make estimates of relative exposure to non-sugar sweeteners and to estimate dietary intake of the relevant non-sugar sweeteners from the urinary excretion of the corresponding biomarkers

Evaluation of Exeter City Council Cranbrook Place Partnership 2025-2028

Exeter City Council is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified local partner to deliver the ongoing evaluation framework of its Sport England Place Partnership 'Live and Move' programme, with funding available for a 3 year contract to 2028. This local programme is part of a national network of places that Sport England are investing in to support communities to become more physically active. The successful organisation or alliance will be expected to work closely with Exeter City Council, Sport England and local stakeholders to deliver ongoing quantitative and qualitative evaluation of the programme. This will include delivering the local evaluation framework across communities in Exeter and Cranbrook for key place partnership programmes with a focus on tackling physical inactivity and reducing inequalities. The evaluation framework will include: • Theory of Change evaluation • Delivery of the annual Local Active Lives survey - Our Learning - Live and Move • Evaluation of the flagship Wellbeing Exeter programme - HOME | Wellbeing Exeter | Exeter • Evaluation of key programmes' impact and learning including: Wonford Community Wellbeing Hub, Active Travel schemes, Cranbrook community physical activity and a range of campaigns seeking to reduce inactivity. • System Maturity and contribution to national comparative analysis • Process Learning with stakeholders • Working alongside the national Sport England learning team and the National Evaluation Partner to support the national evaluation framework. There is a budget of £276,000 (inc. VAT) to deliver a programme of evaluation from October 2025 to March 2028. We will seek to award the tender to organisations or partnerships/alliances that have a proven track record in capturing system and programme level impact, evaluation and learning within the community health, wellbeing and physical activity sector. We will be particularly interested in working with organisations that can demonstrate added value and the ability to lever in additional resources, expertise and investment against the committed budget. There will be the potential opportunity to work wider across the region with other partners establishing their place partnership programmes with Sport England.

The Provision of Population and Household Projection Updates for the 2nd Replacement Local Development Plan

Caerphilly County Borough Council (the Council) is currently in the process of preparing its 2nd Replacement Local Development Plan (2RLDP), which will cover the period 2020-2035. As part of the process, the Council is looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced consultant to undertake population, household and employment-led projections updates to inform the 2RLDP and where necessary attend and give evidence at the 2RLDP examination. The purpose of the commission is to identify the up-to-date position in respect of the Preferred Growth Scenario and to understand how this sits in the context of growth aspirations across the region. The Council will also need to understand how the up-to-date projections accord with the Revised Strategy aim to assist in delivering growth in jobs of around 3.5%. Current 2RLDP Position: The Council commenced a full review of the Adopted LDP in February 2020 and published its Pre-Deposit plan for consultation in October/November 2022. As a result of that consultation conformity objections to the plan were received from Welsh Government. As a result of these objections the Council published its Revised Preferred Strategy in January/February 2025. The Council intends to publish its Deposit Plan for consultation in January/February 2026 and this will need to be informed by up-to-date population and household projections based upon the Preferred Growth Scenario. The Council reserves the right to engage the successful Consultant for the provision of additional consultancy, subject to the availability of further funding. services should further funding become available. The commission (order) of any additional services can be made up to 31st March 2027.
