Description

Mott MacDonald Limited is appointed by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) to deliver the Sierra Leone Secondary Education Improvement Programme (SSEIP - also known as Leh Wi Lan). This programme supports the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education to improve learning outcomes for boys and girls at secondary level and to increase the enrolment, retention and well-being of girls and children with disabilities.

Programme funds have been allocated for the development of a National Curriculum framework for Senior Secondary education, together with subject syllabuses and an implementation strategy.  Proposals are invited from suitably qualified organisations which can demonstrate the capacity to undertake such work successfully.

Flexible Framework for Vocational and Skills Based Interventions

The Council is seeking to establish a Flexible Framework Agreement with external learning providers for the provision of vocational education and skill-based courses for young people across school establishments. The primary aim of this framework is to enhance the employability skills and post school pathways that will better equip our young people for the world of work. A significant focus of this framework will be to ensure adequate specialist provision is available for our schools and programmes supporting pupils with complex and additional needs. Further education colleges, primarily New College Lanarkshire, will provide many vocational education courses for young people in the council’s secondary establishments.
