Description

WLWA has tendered on behalf of the London Borough of Ealing with the MRF Contract commencing 6th June 2020. 

The Contractor will be responsible for the reception and processing of Contract Material and the marketing and transfer of Recyclable Materials to reprocessors. The collection of the Contract Material and delivery to the processing facility is not covered by this Contract.

The Contract will be between WLWA and the Contractor only, with WLWA acting on behalf of the boroughs. 

WLWA have identified a consistent core of materials that Ealing collects which includes paper, cardboard, metal cans, glass bottles and jars and plastics. 

The Contract Material must be priced based on the Pricing Schedule and should include all handling and sorting of materials. The Operating cost will be subject to inflation on an annual basis.

The revenue generated through the sale of materials will be based on actual rates achieved and will be subject to a minimum WLWA share of 95% of the value of the materials.

The Contract Materials will be loaded at designated bulking facilities (transfer stations) ready for transport to the designated MRF for processing. Bulking activities remain the responsibility of the boroughs and transport falls outside of this Contract.

Manston Road Environment Agency Compliance Works

For the provision of the Manston Road Environment Agency Compliance Works. The Contract entails the completion of works necessary to ensure Environment Agency compliance, and to ensure a facility at Manston Road Depot remains fit for purpose. The procurement process will be undertaken on the basis of formal quotations. Evaluation will be on the basis of criteria and methodology as set out in the Invitation to Tender document. Any clarifications or questions must be submitted via the Message area of the Kent Business Portal by no later than 14.00hrs on 10 September 2025. Completed tender documents must be submitted electronically via the Kent Business Portal by no later than 14.00hrs on 19 September 2025.
